ZitatAlles anzeigenProbably the biggest surprise of the show. Sometimes rumors turn out to
be true. As a knife geek, this could be a cool thing when or if it makes
it into full production. I know there has already been some design
changes so the end piece will be different. According to Tony Marfione
there were 20 handground prototypes and some will be sacrificed in the
name of testing and some going to the Strider/Microtech crew.
The design is a smart one. It is a double action automatic. I am sure
everybody knows what that means here, but for the non auto informed it
means that the knife can be opened and closed just like a regular liner
lock folder by using the thumb stud. Of course you also have the option
of just pressing the button to fire the blade open. The button also
features a keyed lock out so the auto mechanism can be deactivated which
is kind of handy for some folks in certain jurisdictions. When opened
manually the auto fire button will not fire (you cannot "dry fire" the
knife). Blade is a 3/4 hollow ground spearpoint and features both the
Microtech and Strider logos. Aluminum handle has windows inlaid with
carbon fiber.
