Tracking/walking stick

    Made this tracking/walking stick from hazel, antler, orange G10, Corian, spacers and some leather bits. Made the bead also myself. Steel point is from an old glue clamp.

    Is there a rod going through the G-10 and so on?


    Did you tie the stick to a board or so to keep it fully straight?

    The stick is from hazel, this wood grows very straight, although there is a small bend in it, but thats natural. You can straighten it by heating it with steam and clamping it on a board.
    Yes, the handle is made out of pieces of G10 , corian etc and they are on a steel rod, which is then put into two holes I drilled in the stick. Like making a sticktang knife.


    we use often a stick in our courses, I have several of them. Dont want to cut of a branch every time I am in the field.


    when walking in wet terrain, carrying a heavy backpack, a stick is a great tool.
