Welcome to the Solo V2-club !
I absolutely love mine, the "tankiest" knife I've ever seen
If anyone wants to see the differences between the V1 and V2 version of this knife, then check out my old thread on page 5.

Hey guys,
After 1,5 years of waiting I finally received my GTC Supersonic a couple of days ago. Gus' style is very distinct, you can easily pick it out of a line-up
Here are some pic's, I hope you enjoy !
I didn't want to turn it into an discussion if weight is good or bad-- I am just curious.
My actual preferences tend towards small fixed blade knifes but I appreciate this exceptional design.
I just have been asking myself if it's heavier than a ZT30x Series knife.
Well it feels about the same in weight actually. But again, I can't say in grams, just by holding them both.
The ZT0300 is just a couple of mm longer then the Solo, but the Solo is a lot thicker then the ZT.
Just for you some comparison photo's my friend
wow, interesting design and looks real heavy duty! But it also looks heavy, can you talk about the weight?
I don't have an accurate scale, so I can't tell you how much it weighs exactly. I have been carrying it now for an hour and it's pretty comfortable.
That being said, people can be very picky about knives being too heavy so I guess it depends on your preferences.
It also comes with a pouch so you can carry it on your belt if you want to.
I'm diggin it. How long did you wait?
Thanks ! I had to wait 3 weeks, but that was because of certain circumstances. I think his normal waiting period is something like 3 months.
Hey guys,
I just received a really nice package from Fedex : the latest and greatest version of the Direware Solo-V1 ! I believe this is the first knife in this new setup, so I have taken some pic's for you all so you can see the changes.
Some specs :
OPEN LENGTH : 8.40 inches (= 21,3cm)
BLADE LENGTH : 3.30 inches (= 8,4 cm)
CLOSED LENGTH : 5.10 inches (= 13cm)
BLADE DEPTH : 1.80 inches (= 4,6cm)
BLADE THICKNESS : .187 inches (= 0,5cm)
BLADE MATERIALS : CPM - S35VN
HANDLE FRAME : Carbon Fiber
HANDLE FRAME LOCK SIDE : 6AL-4V Titanium
TITANIUM FRAME FINISHES : Anodized Bronze Tumbled
BLADE FINISHES : Dark Tumbled
So, what has changed in the design ?
- Added jimping on the top of the blade :
- Improved deeper carry clip :
- Thumbstud blade stop instead of stop-pin :
- Added standoff for even more strength. Eric was able to do this because the stoppin is no longer "in the way" :
- Improved Dark Tumble finish :
Here are also some old vs. new pic's :
Old :
New :
Some more shots (because, well....why not ?) :
Thanks again Eric for an awesome job
I hope you enjoyed these pic's, feel free to comment !
Thanks for the great comments guys !
Have you polished it after your last pics at TF?
Now you have the most beautiful ZT 30x I know
No I haven't polished it (well I cleaned off the fingerprints for the photo's). I think it's just the sunlight.
With the great weather coming up I'll have a lot of pictures to take. Last couple of months haven't been that great because taking pic's inside the house isn't that great for me.

Ich hoffe, wir bekommen dann Bilder.
Ofcourse !
I ordered mine yesterday ! The waitinglist is 4 months though so I have to wait.
Mine will be in carbon fiber and tumbled finish on blade and handle.
Here you go :
In comparison with a Zero Tolerance 0301 :
I have a few Police's and I will be getting a 755 MPR any day now (it's on it's way from the US), so if you hold one I will be able to take a few pic's soon
What have you paid for this "Custom Mod"?
It looks great.
The Tom Krein regrind was $40 and the scale was $50 and I also had to pay $10 shipping costs so $100 in total which is something like 75 euro ?
Holy crap! This thing should cut like a laser!
Is the top sharpened too or is it still a falseedge?
Best wishes, Ben
Thanks guys, I'm really happy with it.
Mr. Krein reprofiled the blade and the false edge is a lot thinner, but not sharp so it's still a false edge.
I had my ZT0301 altered, it was sent to the US a couple of months ago for a Tom Krein regrind and a custom scale. It finally arrived today !
I received my first high end damascus folder yesterday. The Bradley Alias I with Devin Thomas damascus blade
Number 14 of 100 :
Received the mini-Skirmish today, so I decided to take some more of it together with the other Skirmishes I have. Also messed around a bit with Photoshop just for fun.
And now for something completely different...
If you were wondering what it looks like on the inside, I've got some pic's. I had the blue and the charcoal first production runs but I sold the blue one.
Just got the pic's from Nick Rossi (Rossi Knives). He did a regrind and hand-polish on my Mini-Skirmish.
Before :
And after :
It's a beautiful work!
Did he use a complete original Skirmish and pimped it, or is the handle new?
If the handle is new, is the material titanium, too?
It's an original Skirmish he used. The titanium side as you see on the picture was completely removed and replaced by handmade glass-fibre reinforced two-tone Micarta. The titanium lock-side of the knife will have the same Micarta, but it will be on top of the titanium.
So, it will be sort of a linerlock when he is done I guess.
Hope to post pic's soon so you can see for yourself
Hopefully will be getting my Police 3 this week too...
